The MUSE Awards
Cookie Notice
This notice explains how The MUSE Awards website uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It is written to meet the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1What cookies are
1.1Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as pixels and local storage, work in a similar way. In this notice, “cookies” covers all of them.
2Our approach
2.1By default, we use only strictly necessary storage: remembering your cookie choice. The law does not require your consent for this.
2.2Analytics and advertising cookies are used only if you consent through our cookie banner, which lets you accept or reject them. If you reject them, or do not make a choice, they stay off.
2.3We also measure visits with Plausible, a cookie-free analytics tool. It does not set cookies or store anything on your device.
3Cookies we use
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
muse-consent (local storage, not a cookie) | The MUSE Awards (first party) | Remembers your cookie choice | Strictly necessary | Stays in your browser until you change your choice or clear your browser’s site data |
| Cookies set by Google Analytics | Distinguish visitors and visits so we can see how our website is used and measure our adverts | Analytics and advertising (consent) | Listed in Google’s own notice | |
| Cookies set by the Meta Pixel | Meta | Recognise your browser so Meta can measure our adverts and show relevant ones on its platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram | Advertising (consent) | Listed in Meta’s own notice |
| Cookies set by the TikTok Pixel | TikTok | Recognise your browser so TikTok can measure our adverts and show relevant ones on TikTok | Advertising (consent) | Listed in TikTok’s own notice |
3.1Cookies set by Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and the TikTok Pixel are set only after you accept. Their names and durations are listed in each provider’s own notice.
3.2When you pay, you go to Stripe’s checkout page. Stripe sets its own cookies only on that page, under Stripe’s own cookie notice. We do not use any other embedded services.
4Analytics and advertising tools
4.1Google Analytics, the Meta Pixel and the TikTok Pixel load only after you give consent through our cookie banner.
4.2When active, the Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel send Meta or TikTok information about your visit: the pages you view, when you start an entry, and when you complete a payment (the value and currency only). Meta and TikTok may combine this with other information they hold and use it under their own privacy policies.
4.3Our Privacy Notice explains how we use personal data collected through cookies.
5Changing your choice
5.1You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the foot of every page.
5.2If you withdraw consent, analytics and advertising cookies already on your device may remain until they expire or you delete them.
5.3You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block or clear cookies and site data, we may not be able to remember your cookie choice.
